Expanded Metal is made from metal plates or sheets that are simultaneously slit and expanded in a cold drawn operation to form typically diamond shaped openings of uniform size and thickness. The sheets can also be flattened by rollers for an optional style by passing them through a cold, roll reducing mill. The flattening reduces the thickness (gauge) of the material and bonds it down to give a flat surface.
Expanded Metal can be produced from a variety of materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, aluminum, galvanized, titanium, and nickel.
Because this product is very versatile and economical, it has many different applications, such as fencing, patio furniture, filters, enclosures, protection, support, expanded metal safety grating and chimney caps. We provide a wide range of standard expanded metals and customized fabrication orders are also being handled on a regular basis.
